Material Testing

Grips & Fixtures

Having the ability to apply load to a test specimen is important—but having the ability to apply that load correctly is just as crucial. Tensile testing will require different fixturing than bend testing; test standards often require specially designed grips; and metal specimens will need to be gripped differently than foam specimens. Grip selection can make or break a test, as an incorrectly gripped specimen will yield invalid results. For a test to work, the test system needs to properly interface with its specimen.

No matter the shape, material, and texture of your test specimen, TestResources can find a way to properly load it. The links below can help bring to light the best grip for a given application, even standards-driven applications.

Grips are a large portion of what we do. Call us today; our experience engineers will ensure your specimen is gripped correctly.

Fits Any Brand Test Machine

Our grips and fixtures will be customized to fit any brand of test machine. We offer adapters that allow the grips and fixtures to be used on test machines from TestResources, Instron®, MTS®, Tinius Olsen® and every other brand of machine.
